groups failed to secure wins, while only Bayern Munich remained perfect
with a close victory over Viktoria Plzen. While fans are not likely surprised by Manchester City's offensive outburst, or Shakhtar Donetsk's tough play against Bayer Leverkusen to earn a draw, there were plenty of shocking outcomes from the first part of Matchday 4.
Here are the full results from the day, followed by a look at the most surprising results from around Europe.

This led to missed opportunities like this one:
It all led to the first scoreless match for United's offense since Sept. 1 against Liverpool.
On the other hand, Real Sociedad could not do much on the attack, either. Leading scorer Antoine Griezmann barely touched the ball and still has not produced a goal in four UCL matches.
Manchester United had a chance to virtually clinch a spot in the knockout stage with a win, but both sides came away with a disappointing draw.

Most would have predicted PSG to have little trouble in this home match against the struggling Belgian opponent.
However, the host squad struggled in the final third in this matchup. While Paris Saint-Germain controlled the ball for 70 percent of the time, they could only get four shots on goal. Fortunately, one of them went into the back of the net off the foot of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Then again, this was until after Demy De Zeeuw took the lead a few minutes earlier.
The match ended in a draw, which unsurprisingly led to some excitement from Anderlecht:
PSG remains in good shape going forward, but the squad will have to wait in order to clinch a spot in the knockout stage.
Juventus 2, Real Madrid 2

The Italian champions earned the lead when Arturo Vidal hit a penalty shot toward the end of the first half. While this was the only scoring before intermission, the second half featured plenty more excitement.
Real Madrid saw their two most high-profile players come through in a span of eight minutes, as Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale each scored to take the 2-1 advantage.
This lead did not last long, though, as Fernando Llorente got the equalizer in the 65th minute for Juventus.
The sides ended with a 2-2 draw that neither should be particularly excited about. Real lost a chance to clinch a spot in the knockout stage, while Juventus remain in last place in the group.
Still, each have a chance to play their way into the next round over the next two matches.
