UEFA Champions League results: Tuesday, November 5th
Today, Groups A through D in the UEFA Champions League squared off and there were a lot of close games. Manchester United got a draw in Spain against Real Sociedad. Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez got a quality chance on goal from about 6-yards out and sent it over the cross-bar. That goal would’ve won United the game and given them three goals.Juventus managed to get a draw against Real Madrid, they desperately needed three points but were happy to walk away with a point. Juventus got the lead late in the first half on a penalty kick from the spot. In the first 15 minutes of the second half Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale scored to tie the game up. (See the goals here). Minutes after Bale’s goal, Juventus tied it up.
Copenhagen got their first win of Champions League play at home against Galatasaray. That puts them ahead of Juventus, who now sit in at the bottom of the group.
Olympiakos and Benfica were tied in the middle of Group C with 4 points, but with the win the Greek side moved into second place. PSG was held to a draw, so that narrows their lead to three points over Olympiakos.
Bayern Munich got a tough win over Viktoria Plzen on the road. Manchester City though dominated CSKA Moscow getting 3 first half goals, including a penalty in the third minute.
